A TCM Wellness Session Led by Our Founder

At SYZ Rod Ends, wellness meets precision. Founder Vivian Zhou hosted a TCM lung meridian Gua Sha workshop to help the team relieve autumn dryness and recharge — reminding everyone that caring for people is as important as engineering performance.

A TCM Wellness Session Led by Our Founder

In the fast-paced world of engineering and manufacturing, balance matters — not only in the precision of every component we produce, but also in the wellbeing of the people who make it all possible.

This autumn, as the air turned crisp and dry, several members of our team at SYZ Rod Ends began feeling the seasonal effects — dry throats, mild coughs, fatigue. Our founder, Vivian Zhou, quickly noticed and decided to take a hands-on approach to help everyone recharge.

A Thoughtful Pause for Health

Vivian organized a special Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) workshop focused on lung meridian care. She wanted to share practical, science-meets-tradition ways to improve breathing, relieve dryness, and maintain good energy during the dry season.

At the beginning of the session, she spoke casually with the team — asking who had tried TCM before and what remedies they used at home. That simple, friendly exchange set the tone for an hour of learning, laughter, and connection.

Hands-On Learning: Gua Sha for Everyday Wellness

Vivian demonstrated the gua sha technique, explaining how stimulating the lung meridian can support smoother circulation and easier breathing.
Each participant received their own gua sha board and essential oil. Following her lead, everyone practiced gentle scraping motions along the inner arm, learning how to apply just the right amount of pressure.

“Don’t rush,” Vivian reminded. “The key is to relax and let the warmth flow naturally.”

Soon, the room was filled with smiles. Several team members commented that they felt lighter and calmer — a welcome pause from their daily focus on mechanical precision.

Wellbeing as a Part of Our Culture

The session wasn’t just about easing coughs or learning TCM techniques. It reflected something deeper — SYZ Rod Ends’ belief that a healthy, balanced team creates better performance and better ideas.

Vivian also shared a few take-home tips and gifted everyone custom essential oil pendants to continue their self-care routines.

In a company where attention to detail defines everything we build, this workshop was a refreshing reminder that our people deserve the same care and precision we put into every product.

“Precision starts with people — and wellbeing keeps us moving forward.”
