Radius Rod

Why You Need Radius Rods?

Serving as a fundamental suspension link, the radius rod acts as a rigid structural arm designed to locate the axle or wheel hub longitudinally relative to the chassis. It is essential for managing the immense horizontal forces generated during rapid acceleration and heavy braking.

Constrain Longitudinal Axle Movement

Its primary function is to act as a rigid anchor, restraining the axle from shifting backward or forward in the wheel well under load, which is vital for maintaining wheelbase integrity.

In solid axle applications, radius rods are critical for preventing “axle wrap” (where torque tries to rotate the axle housing) and wheel hop, ensuring power is efficiently delivered to the ground.

By firmly locating the axle pivot points, it ensures that critical alignment angles, such as caster, remain stable throughout the suspension’s travel, guaranteeing predictable steering behavior.

When brakes are applied forcefully, the massive stopping energy attempting to push the wheel backward is safely transferred through the radius rod directly into the vehicle’s robust chassis frame.

While rigid longitudinally, they are equipped with bushings or spherical rod ends that pivot, allowing the suspension to cycle up and down freely without binding or restricting necessary movement.

Our Radius Rods Advantages

High Clearance for Enhanced Ground Clearance

The arched design significantly increases ground clearance, preventing the chassis from scraping rocks and obstacles. This improvement allows for smoother navigation over rough terrain.

Billet Strength for Durability

Made from solid 6061 or 7075 billet aluminum, CNC-machined for precision, our rods are far stronger than factory hollow tubes. They’re designed to withstand impacts and won’t bend under pressure.

Full Adjustability for Perfect Alignment

With true dual-adjustability, you can easily correct camber and toe angles on your rear wheels, improving handling and reducing tire wear for better overall performance.

Premium Rod Ends for Better Feedback

Pre-installed with high-performance Heim joints, these rods eliminate the play found in OEM rubber bushings, providing clearer, more direct road feedback for a more responsive driving experience.
