Why You Need Tube Adapter/Insert?
Tube adapters and inserts act as the essential structural “anchors” used to convert plain, hollow tubing into functional, threaded linkage arms. They provide the necessary solid material base to securely accept rod ends and other threaded hardware into thin-walled structural members.
Create a Secure Threaded Interface
Since structural tubing walls are too thin to tap directly, these inserts provide the necessary precision internal threads to transform a raw tube into a component ready for assembly hardware.
Ensure High Pull-Out Strength
Engineered with substantial wall thickness, they offer deep thread engagement to withstand massive axial tension and compression loads without stripping out under stress.
Simplify Custom Linkage Fabrication
They are the fundamental building blocks for fabricators creating custom-length control arms and steering links, requiring only simple welding to become an integral part of the tube.
Enable Turnbuckle-Style Adjustment
By installing adapters with opposing thread directions (Left-Hand and Right-Hand) on either end of a tube, they allow for easy on-vehicle length tuning without disconnecting the linkage.
Restore Structural Integrity
Once welded into the tube end (often with additional plug welds for redundancy), they ensure a continuous, rigid load path from the rod end through to the main tube body.
Our Tube Adapter/Insert Advantages
Excellent Weldability for Maximum Strength
Made from premium 4130 chromoly or weld-friendly low-carbon steel, these inserts offer outstanding weld penetration to ensure they fuse seamlessly with the tube—no cracking or separation.
Precision CNC Fitment
CNC-machined with strict OD tolerances, each insert slides perfectly into DOM or chromoly tubing with no grinding required, providing a clean and reliable foundation for welding.
Hex or Round Body Options
Available in both round and hex designs. The hex style is especially popular, allowing easy wrench adjustment when fine-tuning link lengths—ideal for fabrication shops.
Accurate Threads with Zero Play
Threads are checked with go/no-go gauges to ensure smooth engagement with rod ends. No sticking, no looseness, and no risk of thread stripping during assembly.
FAQs
Q1: What tube wall thickness are these inserts designed for?
We offer standard sizes for common wall thicknesses such as .120″, .188″, and .250″, compatible with most DOM and chromoly tubing.
Q2: Should I choose 4130 chromoly or standard steel?
If you’re welding into chromoly tubing, choose 4130 and TIG-weld it. For regular DOM tubes, standard mild-steel inserts are more than sufficient.
Q3: Will the threads deform when welding?
To prevent thread distortion, we recommend threading in an old rod end or bolt during welding to act as a heat sink.
Q4: Do you offer left-hand (LH) threads?
Yes. All sizes are available in both left-hand (LH) and right-hand (RH) threads, allowing you to build fully adjustable suspension links.
Q5: How long are the inserts, and how deep do they seat into the tube?
Our inserts are designed with optimal insertion depth to maximize weld surface area, ensuring superior strength once assembled.
Q6: What payment terms do you accept?
We accept T/T, PayPal (for samples), and L/C for large orders. For new customers, 30% deposit and 70% before shipment is standard.
