1-14JNR16S-1 JNL16S-1 Jam Nut
JAM NUTS Product Overview
JNR16S-1 / JNL16S-1 is a 1-14 jam nut (also called a lock nut or half nut) with hex width (W max) = 0.575″ and height (H max) = 1.5″.
Used to lock rod end position on a threaded shank after the rod end has been adjusted. Thread the rod end to the desired position, then spin the jam nut against the end fitting or tube adapter to prevent back-off under vibration. Carbon steel, zinc plated (silver). Left-hand jam nuts (JNL prefix) are yellow zinc plated for visual identification. Anodized aluminum option available (substitute ‘A’ for ‘S’ in suffix).
Left-hand version: JNL16S-1. Aluminum anodized version available (e.g., JNR16S-1A). Sold individually. Metric jam nut sizes available on request.

JAM NUTS Frequently Asked Questions
What are jam nuts used for?
Jam nuts are used to lock threaded assemblies in position after adjustment, especially on rod ends, tube adapters, and fabricated linkage hardware.
What material is used in this series?
This series uses carbon steel with zinc plating as standard. Aluminum versions are also available for select part numbers.
How are left-hand jam nuts identified?
Left-hand jam nuts are identified by groove or yellow zinc plating, as noted in the specification guide.
Is an aluminum option available?
Yes. Use an A suffix instead of S to specify the aluminum option, for example JNR8A.
Are metric sizes available?
Yes. Metric sizes are available on request even though the main size chart here lists standard inch UNF sizes.
How do I choose the correct jam nut?
Select by thread size first, then verify the H MAX, H MIN, and wrench dimensions required by the target assembly.
