What Is a Bung Adjuster Nut?
DefinitionA bung adjuster nut is a threaded adjuster sleeve in 4130 chromoly: an internal thread on one end, an external thread on the other. It joins a weld bung to a rod end — and because the two threads work against each other, rotating the nut changes the link’s length, turnbuckle-style.
The BAN (right-hand) and BANL (left-hand) series cover 15 sizes and thread combinations from 3/8-24 up to 1-1/2-12, including mixed-hand and mixed-size pairings — silver zinc plated for corrosion resistance and clean assembly appearance.

Anatomy of a Bung Adjuster Nut
StructureOne hex-sleeve, two different threads — the geometry is the function.
Internal Thread (C)
The female thread that receives a male member — typically a rod end or threaded bung stud.
External Thread (D)
The male thread that screws into a weld bung or female boss — this side sets into the tube package.
Hex Body (E)
The wrench flats for turning the nut during adjustment; total length (A) and hex length (B) set the adjustment travel.
BAN — Right-Hand Series
Both threads right-hand (e.g., BAN-8-6: 3/8-24 RH internal × 1/2-20 RH external) — for links where adjustment is made by rotating the nut against a fixed member.
Also available in mixed-hand pairings (e.g., -1 suffix: RH × LH) for specific build geometry.
BANL — Left-Hand Series
Both threads left-hand — used on the opposite end of a link so the whole assembly adjusts turnbuckle-style, or wherever LH threads are required.
Same sizes and hex dimensions as the BAN counterparts.
