B 0.5000 / D 1.0000WPB8TG Spherical Bearing (Inch)
WPB TG Product Overview
WPB8TG is a wide-series PTFE-lined spherical bearing with staking groove, bore (B) = 0.5000″, OD (D) = 1.0000″. Body width (W) = 0.625″, inner race width (T) = 0.505″. Ball diameter = 0.875″. Flat OD (O) = 0.607″. Approximate weight: 0.100 lb.
Rated at 21,400 lb static radial load with ±9.0° misalignment angle. The staking groove on the OD allows the bearing to be permanently retained in a housing bore by staking the housing material into the groove — eliminating the need for snap rings or press-fit retention in many assemblies. The 52100 bearing steel ball is precision ground, heat treated, and hard chrome plated. The alloy steel race is heat treated, oil coated, and PTFE lined for self-lubricating operation.
Stainless race + stainless ball: add ‘-SS’ suffix (e.g., WPB8TG-SS). Stainless race + steel ball: add ‘-S’ suffix (e.g., WPB8TG-S). Non-groove variant: WPB8T (WPB-T series). Standard-width Teflon-lined equivalent: COM-T series.

WPB TG Frequently Asked Questions
What is WPB-TG used for?
WPB-TG spherical bearings are used in wide-series articulated joints and retained installations where staking groove geometry, PTFE-lined race construction, and strong radial support are required.
What is the difference between WPB-T and WPB-TG?
WPB-TG is the staking groove version of the WPB wide-series spherical bearing platform. It adds groove-related dimensions while keeping the same general PTFE-lined bearing concept.
What materials are used in WPB-TG spherical bearings?
WPB-TG uses a 52100 bearing steel ball, precision ground, heat treated, and hard chrome plated, together with an alloy steel race that is heat treated, PTFE lined, and oil coated.
Are stainless options available in WPB-TG?
Yes. Add -SS for stainless race and stainless ball, or -S for stainless race with steel ball, for example WPB12TG-SS or WPB12TG-S.
Why choose a staking groove spherical bearing?
A staking groove spherical bearing is selected when the installation requires groove-based retention in addition to wide-series load support and articulated movement.
How do I choose the right WPB-TG size?
Start with the required bore, outer diameter, widths, groove-related dimensions, misalignment angle, and static radial load shown in the size chart, then confirm whether standard, -S, or -SS configuration is the better fit for the application.
