ROD END SPACER SG / HMS Product Overview
SG12-816W / HMS12-816W is a high-misalignment spacer with 0.749″ bore (D), 0.875″ housing OD (D2), spacer width (B) = 0.500″, outer flange width (W) = 1.000″, inner flange width (W2) = 0.423″. Misalignment angle: ±54°. Total installed width: 2.875″.
SG (stainless steel) and HMS (carbon steel, zinc plated) high-misalignment spacers are used with rod ends and spherical bearings to increase angular articulation range beyond the standard body-to-housing clearance. A pair of spacers allows the rod end to misalign further without the housing contacting the mounting bracket — suited to suspension links, steering arms, and other assemblies where high angular travel is required.
Stainless version: SG12-816W. Carbon steel: HMS12-816W. Used in pairs (one each side of the rod end or bearing). Compatible with COM series spherical bearings and standard rod ends with matching bore.

ROD END SPACER SG / HMS Frequently Asked Questions
What is a high misalignment spacer used for?
A high misalignment spacer is used to increase rod end articulation and tune installed width around the mounting bolt and bracket package.
What is the difference between HMS and SG materials?
HMS versions use zinc plated carbon steel, while SG versions provide a stainless option for corrosion-sensitive environments.
Why do D and B matter for fitment?
D and B affect the rod end bore interface and bolt interface, making them the first dimensions to confirm for compatibility.
What does total installed width control?
Total installed width helps define the assembled package width between brackets and how the spacer pair locates the rod end in the mount.
How should I compare misalignment angle between sizes?
Compare the published misalignment angle together with D2, W, and W2 because spacer profile and joint size both influence final articulation.
Can SYZ support custom spacer dimensions?
Yes. SYZ can review custom spacer geometry and material requests for OEM and fabrication programs.
