WELD ON WRENCH HEXES Product Overview
1865-106 is a mild steel weld-on wrench hex for 1″ OD tubing. Wrench size: 1 1/4″ across flats. Tubing ID clearance: 1.015″ nominal.
Weld-on wrench hexes are slid over a tube and tack-welded at the mid-point to provide a hex gripping surface for a wrench — allowing the tube to be held or turned without marring the surface. Used to add a turn-point on chromoly push rods, adjustable links, and steering tubes where a threaded hex body is not already present. Mild steel construction; compatible with most standard tubing ODs.
Fits 1″ OD tubing. Pairs with CMT chromoly tubing and WTF tube adapters. All standard tubing sizes from 3/8″ to 2″ OD available across the 1865 series.

WELD ON WRENCH HEXES Frequently Asked Questions
What is a weld-on wrench hex used for?
A weld-on wrench hex adds wrench flats to a tube assembly so it can be adjusted after welding.
What material is standard for this series?
Standard construction uses mild steel for weldability and practical fabrication use.
Why are tubing O.D. size and wrench size the first fitment checks?
They determine whether the hex fits the tube correctly and whether the final assembly has the required wrench access.
What does the I.D. size indicate?
The I.D. size helps confirm the internal fit against the intended tube or fabricated assembly.
Where are weld-on wrench hexes commonly used?
They are commonly used in tie rods, steering links, and fabricated adjustment assemblies built from round tubing.
Can these be used in repeat production work?
Yes. They are well suited to repeat fabrication and OEM production programs using common tubing sizes.
