Product Definition

What Is SCM-T SCF-T Stainless Steel Rod Ends?

SCM-T SCF-T Stainless Steel Rod Ends are stainless-steel rod-end joints used to connect adjustable rods, control arms, brackets, and actuator members while allowing angular movement at the connection. The design combines a threaded housing around a spherical plain bearing or race so the joint can transmit movement through a compact male- or female-thread interface. Select the bore, thread, race, misalignment, load direction, and operating environment for the complete assembly rather than choosing by nominal size alone.

Typical Applications

Applications for SCM-T SCF-T Stainless Steel Rod Ends

Steering, Suspension & Chassis Linkages

Steering, Suspension & Chassis Linkages

stainless-body rod ends provide an adjustable articulated connection for control arms, tie rods, sway-bar links, and other force-transmitting members. Check radial load, angular travel, thread engagement, and race design before use.

Actuator and Control Linkages

Actuator and Control Linkages

The threaded male or female format can connect rods, brackets, hydraulic or pneumatic cylinders, and compact actuator mechanisms. Match thread direction, bore size, and mounting geometry to the complete linkage.

Motorsport, Agricultural & Industrial Fabrication

Motorsport, Agricultural & Industrial Fabrication

These rod ends are used in serviceable vehicle and machine linkages where alignment changes during travel. Aluminum favors low weight, while steel variants suit higher-duty assemblies; final selection should follow the actual load, motion, and environment.

Agricultural Service Equipment

Agricultural Service Equipment

Useful in agricultural machinery and exposed service joints where rust resistance and self-lubricating movement improve service life.

Outdoor Mechanical Assemblies

Outdoor Mechanical Assemblies

A practical option for outdoor installations and general-purpose linkages that need better corrosion performance than standard carbon steel rod ends.

OEM Stainless Systems

OEM Stainless Systems

Well suited to OEM builds that require stainless construction, optional passivation, and dependable rod end articulation in wet or corrosive service conditions.

Product FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between SCM-T and SCF-T rod ends?

SCM-T parts are male-thread stainless rod ends and SCF-T parts are female-thread stainless rod ends. Both belong to the same 2-piece PTFE-lined stainless steel series and follow the same corrosion-resistant material direction.

What materials are used in the SCM-T-SCF-T series?

This series uses a 440C stainless steel ball with hard chrome plating and a 304 stainless steel body in a PTFE-lined construction. Alternate stainless body grades are also available depending on project requirements.

What does the T suffix mean on SCMR and SCFR part numbers?

The T suffix identifies the PTFE-lined version. For example, SCMR12T refers to the PTFE-lined version of that stainless rod end size.

Are other stainless grades available for this series?

Yes. In addition to the standard 304 stainless body, 316 stainless steel and 17-4 stainless steel options are available depending on the operating environment and load requirements.

Can SCM-T-SCF-T rod ends be ordered with passivation or polished finish?

Yes. Passivated stainless steel and polished stainless steel body options are available depending on your specification and order requirements.

What applications are best suited to the SCM-T-SCF-T series?

This series is suited to marine equipment, food and packaging machinery, chemical or washdown systems, outdoor service hardware, and other corrosion-sensitive linkage applications where stainless construction and PTFE-lined performance are preferred.
