Quality Control

Every Unit Inspected Before Shipment

🔩

Raw Material Inspection

Material certifications verified. Composition confirmed by spectrometer before machining begins.

🔍

Thread Gauge Inspection

100% go/no-go gauge check on all threaded sections. Zero tolerance on dimensional non-conformance.

⚖️

Load Capacity Test

Static and dynamic load tests run on representative samples from each production batch.

📏

Dimensional Measurement

CMM verification of critical dimensions — ball diameter, bore, thread pitch, and body length.

🔬

Surface Inspection

Visual and tactile inspection for burrs, scratches, surface cracks, and plating defects.

🔄

Articulation Test

Misalignment angle and torque measured to confirm liner performance meets specification.

🏆

Heat Treatment Verify

Hardness tests confirm proper heat treatment on chromoly steel bodies and bearing balls.

📋

Batch Documentation

Full traceability from raw material heat number to finished part. COC and inspection reports available.

Applications

Where AIM Axial Ball Joints Small Ball Joints Are Used

Compact Control Linkages

AIM axial ball joints fit compact control links and small mechanical actuation points where a metric thread and axial pull-out rating are required.

OEM Mechanical Assemblies

Used in OEM assemblies that need repeatable ball articulation, zinc-plated carbon steel construction, and a compact threaded layout.

Equipment Adjustment Links

Suitable for adjustment mechanisms, light-duty motion transfer, and compact linkage positions with M5 to M16 thread requirements.

Industrial Equipment

Common in compact mechanisms, guards, fixtures, and machine linkages where low-profile ball articulation is required.

Replacement Assemblies

A useful replacement option for light-duty OEM control joints where metric thread compatibility and predictable movement matter.

Custom OEM Mechanisms

Frequently selected for OEM linkage assemblies that need repeatable movement, compact envelope size, and optional sealing-cap protection.

FAQ

AIM Axial Ball Joints Frequently Asked Questions

What is the AIM axial ball joint used for?

AIM axial ball joints are used in compact linkages and control assemblies where a metric threaded ball joint must handle axial pull-out loading in limited space.

What materials are used in AIM ball joints?

The AIM series uses a carbon steel socket with zinc-plated colorless passivated finish and a hardened steel ball with lubricated ball seat. Stainless steel versions are available on request.

How do I select the correct AIM size?

Match the thread d2, ball diameter d1, body dimensions, and pull-out force F from the size chart. If fit-up is uncertain, send your target mounting dimensions for confirmation.

Is AIM14x1.5 different from AIM14?

Yes. AIM14x1.5 uses an M14x1.5 thread, while AIM14 uses an M14 thread designation from the source chart. Confirm the exact thread pitch before ordering.

Can AIM axial ball joints be supplied in stainless steel?

Yes. Stainless steel material versions are available on request for applications where corrosion resistance is required.

Can SYZ support custom AIM finishes or OEM supply?

Yes. Send the target dimensions, material preference, surface finish, annual quantity, and any drawing or sample reference so SYZ can confirm production options.
